The USTCAAGNY Summit—organized by the USTC Alumni Association in Greater New York—is a signature biennial event that brings together alumni, friends, and professionals affiliated with the University of Science and Technology of China. Traditionally held in early October in Midtown Manhattan, the Summit is a full-day event that provides a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, community building, and professional networking.
Recent Summits have drawn between 200 and 250 attendees, featuring thought-provoking panels and keynote lectures on a range of timely and impactful topics—such as macroeconomics, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and career development—reflecting the diverse interests and expertise of the USTC alumni community.
A highlight of the Summit is the Distinguished Overseas Alumni Award, presented to a USTC graduate primarily based outside of Mainland China who, in the view of the USTCAAGNY Board of Directors, exemplifies the values and quality of a USTC education through exceptional professional achievement and meaningful support to fellow alumni. Past honorees have represented a wide range of professions, including multiple members of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering, as well as leaders in finance and the biotechnology industry
In alternate years, the fall Forum is held, which has the same goals and format as the Summit but runs a slightly shorter program without the award ceremony.
As the signature events of USTCAAGNY, the fall Summit and Forum continue to strengthen connections across different career tracks and generations of USTC alumni, fostering collaboration and celebrating the achievements of USTC alumni in the Greater New York area and beyond.
